The selection of works for the exhibition accompanying the 2018 Marl Media Art Awards has been finalized.
From the submissions, the expert juries selected 7 sound and 14 video works for the exhibition for the 2018 Marl Media Art Awards.
The Marl Media Art Awards were once again announced in 2018 with the theme of “Space” – the Marl Video Art Award and the EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD. All national and international artists working with video or sound media were eligible to participate in these competitions.
The EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD is presented by Kulturradio WDR 3, the Hören Foundation, and the European Soundart Association in cooperation with the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl to sound works that are distinguished by their artistic quality, space-related and space-characterizing sound creations, and acoustic and plastic form certainty. The winner of the EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD is invited to use the prize money (7,000 euros) to create a site-specific work for Marl, which will also be shown in the exhibition. In addition, the jury selected seven sound artworks from the competition submissions for the exhibition.
